Houston Haney
OWNER | DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
An Indiana native, Houston was born and raised in Shipshewana. After graduating from Grace College where he played baseball, Houston moved to Fort Wayne to work as an actuary. He soon launched Fortified Homes with Jeremy and has found joy in working directly with families to find a place that best fits their needs. Reviews and texts from happy guests make it all worth it. When he’s not working, Houston can be found playing a mean game of golf or sand volleyball.
Jeremy scot kirkwood

Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Jeremy moved to Fort Wayne in 2018 when he began investing in real estate. The Hoosier state quickly became home and he and his family are active in the Fort Wayne Catholic community. Jeremy loves spending time with his wife Ann and their nine children, and after personal experience with relocation, they’ve become passionate about helping other families through their own seasons of transition and hardship.
the backstory
Two events shaped this business. With Jeremy’s military background, his family was frequently affected by relocation as they moved from Texas to South Carolina to Japan and eventually to Indiana. But it wasn’t until they faced back-to-back house floods that Jeremy became passionate about finding a solution for other families facing relocation or displacement.
“Being displaced with my children and dog ‘Doodle’ showed us what a large need there was for furnished homes in the area for those relocating and in the middle of tough seasons of life with insurance relocation. Our business adjusted to meet the needs of families in NE Indiana and now we are one of the largest managers of furnished traditional homes in Indiana. We strive to meet the needs of relocating families looking for comfortable options close to their primary residence. We act as consultants and managers, directly participating in the labor to renovate, furnish and decorate the best homes in Indiana. Whether it’s vacation, a tree through the family home, or professional and contractor housing, we aim to have our guests in the best homes possible.”
